Flokk has joined Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.
We look forward to participating in the CRSB semi-annual meeting next week, and learning from CRSB and we continue our journey supporting Canadian cow/calf producers.
With the cooperation of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Flokk is making available recordings of industry information sessions presented by the CFIA.
These sessions help industry participants understand, and provide feedback on, the proposed amendments to Part XV of the Health of Animals Regulations (Identification and Traceability)
The "Regulations Amending the Health of Animals Regulations (Identification and Traceability)" have now been published in Canada Gazette, Part I, Volume 157, Number 11.
This begins a 90 day consultation period (ending 2023-06-16), after which final version of the regulations will be published.
I have seen, and received several referrals to, McKinsey & Company's report "Agtech: Breaking down the farmer adoption dilemma". After giving it a careful read, I wanted to share what we learned.
On a gross revenue basis, NA livestock production is 75% as large as crop production. Yet Agtech application to livestock production remains so limited that it is not even mentioned in the report.
