Cargill has launched RegenConnect, which links farmers to the emerging carbon marketplace and helps scale the voluntary adoption of regenerative agriculture practices.

This program is directed primarily at grains and oil seed production. But these opportunities will soon be available for livestock producers, and Flokk will be the easiest to implement and use solution to collect the accurate, detailed, and audit-able data required to enable these programs.

Flokk secures RDAR project funding

At the AgSmart technology demonstration and education exposition at Olds College, Clinton Dobson (RDAR Director of Research) and Mark Olson (President, Flokk Systems Inc) announced RDAR (Results Driven Agriculture Research) is providing financial support to Flokk Systems to advance our work identifying factors that limit the digitization of Alberta cow/calf production, and to evaluate practical solutions to those limitations.

The project will begin immediately, and will use industry surveys, producer interviews, and on-farm evaluation of prototype hardware and software to deliver solutions that support Alberta's livestock producers retaining, and strengthening, their leadership in traceability and sustainability.

USDA continues process of adopting RFID tags for cattle

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is moving forward with the adoption of RFID ear tags as the official ear tag for use in interstate movement of cattle.

This will result in US cow/calf producers soon facing the same dilemma that Canadian producers have today; the necessity to acquire and apply RFID tags to their stock, but no affordable and suitable tool available to realize value from these tags to their own operation.

Flokk receives Alberta Innovates funding

Flokk Systems Inc. is pleased to announce that it has secured non-dilutive funding in the form of a Micro-Voucher from Alberta Innovates.

The funding will be used to work with Solarbotics of Calgary to advance our handheld device to the next prototype stage, in preparation for field testing that will begin in Q2 2021.
